Grade Control

Grade control is an essential step in the mining planning process. It is used to verify the quality, grade and any irregularities of a mineral, all of which determines its viability and ROI. Utilising grade control technology will improve your operational efficiency and increase your productivity and profitability.

Accurate drilling is vital to ensuring the grade control data you receive is correct. At Westdrill, we have the expertise to precisely drill and analyse the data, so you receive the right information the first time and keep your costs down.

Our grade control services can be incorporated in a complete drill and blast solution or as a standalone service.

Our grade control services include:

  • Deep hole grade control drilling
  • Shallow grade control drilling
  • Reverse circulation drilling
  • Differentiation of ore types for mining and processing
  • Identification of problems and troubleshooting

Our equipment

We operate a fleet of Atlas Copco L8 track mounted full reverse circulation (RC) drill rigs purpose built for in-pit grade control. All of our rigs are built with fuel efficient, low emission CAT engines designed to minimise environmental impact. They are also fitted with the industry flagship Metzke Cone Sampling System to ensure accurate samples every time.

Unrivalled commitment to safety

We invest heavily on maintaining a safe working environment for our employees and yours. Our aim is to always deliver safe and efficient drilling solutions through continuous improvement. With a dedicated OHS officer, we’ll assess your site requirements to achieve full compliance, and review our safety initiatives at various stages of the project to ensure these standards are maintained.
